Jim Martin took over the business that has been on Arlington Heights Road 20 years ago. “Providing quality photographic portraiture and wedding photography has always been my goal. My passion is to create images that have an emotional impact an personal attachment to all my clients,”says Jim Martin..

Jim started out as a photojournalist working for the local suburban newspapers covering local events, disasters, sports and human interest pieces. He taught photography at University of Illinois at Chicago and has been a full time wedding and portrait photographer at photo by robert for 30 years.

“Having a loyal portrait clientele that returns year after year makes my job rewarding”. With a fall off of people getting married and not using professional photographers promoted the move to a smaller studio space.
I received a phone call a day after I moved. A portrait client was concerned that my studio was closed down. I have photographed his family for years has portraits hanging over his fireplace and is due for another family portrait soon.

This Arlington Heights full service professional photo studio does Wedding Photography, family portraits, children, pets and digital head shot portraits for the web and professional publications.

During our search to find a Wedding Photographer for our recent September 2008 wedding - We chose to use Photo By Robert, located in Arlington Heights IL.
We had checked out the packages that a few well-known "chain photography stores" offered and compared them to what Photo By Robert offered. We saw how the "chain stores" treated us more like "just another wedding" whereas Photo By Robert saw us as individuals and as a couple ready to get married.
